2nd Parenting Seminar January 21

FROM :Mrs. Josephine C. Yao, School Directress
What differentiates successful students from the average ones?  Is it all related to IQ and genetics or are some other factors involved?  Success in school is not so much determined by sheer intelligence as knowing HOW to study. Many children experience frustration and failure in school.  It is not because they lack ability, but because they do not have adequate study skills.  Good study habits are important for success in school now and especially in the future.
It is with this in mind that we are inviting Mother Goose parents of both Q.C. and San Juan to our second parental seminar.
WHEN: January 21, Saturday
TIME :8:30am to 10:30 am
WHERE: Mother Goose San Juan
18 E. Maclang  St. cor. P. Guevarra St.
TOPIC: “Building Study Habits”
SPEAKER:Teacher Hilda Silvano
In this module, you will discover your child’s (and yours, too) preferred learning style through which learning comes more easily.  Tips on how to help them organize their studies, and how we parents can help and support them will also be discussed.  You will find that once our children develop effective study habits, the job of studying and learning will become easier.  Instead of working harder, they will be working smarter.
Our speaker T. Hilda Silvano  is the program area supervisor in Scholastic and ensures proper implementation of Scholastic literacy programs by providing consultancy to partner schools under her care. She participates in the development of literacy programs; gives literacy trainings/workshops to teachers, and librarians; conducts literacy seminars for parents on Building Study Habits, Behavior Management, Motivating Children to Read and Family Communication.  She has earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism at University of Santo Tomas and Teacher Certification in Philippine Normal University and passed her LET. She completed required credits for a Master’s Degree in English at the University of Santo Tomas.
Teacher Hilda taught for 10 years in different schools (Manila Cathedral School, Immaculate Conception Academy and Don Bosco Technical College). She became the Language and Filipino Coordinator at Don Bosco Technical College where she was also a part time instructor in College.
Please come and join us for this interesting and timely topic for parents.

Pet Day 2015

DATE :September  11, 2015
Good day!
This coming September 18, 2015, Friday  will be our Pet Day! This much awaited yearly event is a special day when your children can bring their pets to school. Please have your child bring a live pet or a stuffed toy or a picture of their favorite pet.
Children are by nature curious and inquisitive. Let Pet Day be a day for them to explore new ideas and to learn more about animals. Here at Mother Goose, we believe in the value of experimental learning. Our children can learn more if they are presented with concrete, live objects. There is no better way to learn about animals than by touching, smelling, hearing, and interacting with them.
Your child’s safety is also at the top of our concerns. So please let us know if your child is allergic to fur, hair, or anything related to animals.
We are so excited for this event! We hope for your full support and cooperation.
Thank you very much.
